A Successful Autumn Exhibition
Just a few words to say a huge thank you to all who helped out with the autumn exhibition. Especially the families of members who pitched in to help make it a success. We sold 30 paintings and 13 browser pictures. By far the most successful exhibition we have had for a long while. We had many complimentary comments and some good feedback on social media. Thanks Everyone.

I would like to thank all the hard working people that made the exhibition such a success. The atmosphere was positive and friendly, which made it so welcoming to those visitors considering becoming members.

Well! What an exhibition! Excellent weekend for the catering department, in fact, the best we’ve ever done. With that in mind, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the people involved in helping me to set up, and also the following people who practically ran the refreshments department over the weekend. They are Ann Saunders, Brian Brookes, Joy and Brian Machin, Elaine Beardsley-Turton, Fi Cusick, Carol Smith and Yvonne Kirk and not forgetting the people who jumped in to help.
A big thank you has to be given to all you lovely bakers who kept me supplied with home-made cakes, and to all you wonderful people who jumped in with shop-bought cakes when we looked pretty desperate from mid-Saturday afternoon. Finally thankyou to Joc’ who generously donated to the catering fund in memory of her parents (Terry and Jo Mack) who always donated towards the catering in years past. – THANK YOU!
Exhibition Raffle – Message from Lynne Wootton
I’d just like to send out a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone who donated items for the raffle hampers. The response was wonderful and meant that this year we had 7 prizes. You all made my job so much easier and your generosity was very much appreciated. Lynne Wootton
Raffle for FREE Painted Portrait
A display was made of Portraits of fellow members, painted by our member Jim Nixon, so that people could put names to faces. In addition, Jim made a very generous offer, in order to raise funds for the Society. Jim offered to ‘paint a portrait’, as a prize to be raffled. Raffle tickets were £2 each. The winner has asked Jim to paint a portrait of himself. Over £80 was raised for AAS. Well done Jim, your talent and generosity speaks for itself!
Card and Craft Stalls
Both Card and Craft stalls were doing good business throughout the exhibition.
